Installation: Content Distribution component missing preventing installation

Issue:

During installation, it is possible that some older and larger Organizations may be missing some components that are standard in recent Salesforce editions and versions. The errors will only present themselves one at a time, so it is possible that you will need to resolve multiple issues in a single install.

If you see the ContentDistribution error message, it is likely that your Salesforce instance is older and is missing the Content Distribution Component.

Error Message:
Similar to this:
Your request to install package "ClosePlan version...." was unsuccessful.
None of the data or setup information in your salesforce.com organization was affected.

1. Invalid type: ContentDistribution

CPUIFilesController: Invalid type: ContentDistribution

Solution:

Open a case with Salesforce asking that the Content Distribution component be installed to your SFDC Org (Both Production and Sandboxes).
It usually takes about 24 hours.

Please escalate if you do not get a response in 24 hours. Then try the install again, and if it is like other cases of this missing component, your installation should be successful.

Note:
Salesforce can only reveal one installation error/blocker at a time, so we might see additional issues. Unlikely, but possible.
