This information is relevant for customer Organizations that require API Connectivity with People.ai products such as Data Platform.

This information is also relevant for customer Organizations that require AI features such as for Account GPT features in Account Planning.

1. People.ai API Connection

Displays relevant information regarding the Connection Status to the People.ai application

• Status - Activated or Deactivated

  • If the Status is Deactivated then the Organization cannot access People.ai APIs

• Key - Consumer Key

• Secret - Consumer Secret

• Authorize Using - Authorization selection

• Connection Status - Indicates Connection Status:

  • Online

  • Error

• Configure - Click to configure (For further information, please see People.ai API Configuration Section below)

2. People.ai In-App Integration

• Integration Mode - Indicates the Integration Mode and whether the People.ai application is installed.

  • Auto (Default)

  • Enabled

  • Disabled

• Show deep links to the Web App - When enabled, this feature displays deep link buttons that allow users to quickly open supported records in the People.ai app.

• Show Stakeholder Insights - When enabled, the Stakeholder detail page will have additional tabs with insights.

• Show Buyer Benchmarks - When enabled, buyer benchmarks will be visible on the stakeholder detail page.

3. Field Mapping

When the People.ai package is installed, the People.ai package fields are used automatically.

• Mapping can be used to override the People.ai package fields to your local fields on the following Objects:

  • Account

  • Contact

  • Opportunity

  • Opportunity Contact Role

• The fields in each Object can be mapped or unmapped as needed or preferred.

• If a field requires mapping in your Org, all fields on that Object must be mapped.

  • Example: On the contact Object, both Number and Checkbox must both be mapped if one of the two fields requires mapping.

People.ai API Configuration

Configuring the APIs for People.ai allows your Organization to access additional People.ai product functionality.

Confirm Prerequisite Remote Site Configuration

• Check if the following Remote Site Settings are present for the following: 

  • https://app.people.ai

  • https://api.people.ai 

Add the People.ai API Configuration

• Go to ClosePlan Admin > People.ai tab

• Click on ‘Configure’

• Click ‘Enable Integration' and follow the steps in the dialog:

API Authorization

Provide the API Key and API Secret

• Generate a new API Key and API Secret from the AI-Powered Revenue Intelligence Platform People.ai webapp (link provided in modal) and enter both in the provided fields

• Options - Select the user field that will be used when authorizing users against the People.ai API.

• Identity Field:

  • Username - Salesforce username for the current Organization

  • Email - Email of the current User

  • SAML Federation ID - Standard Salesforce Field - (Useful for Sandboxes or scenarios where Username and/or Email does not represent the correct Authorization identity)

• By default, Email field is used. If the User’s email does not match the People.ai username, change to SAML Federation ID

• If necessary, you can create a new custom Text field, which will then be available here.

• Click Verify and Save button

  • The process may take a few minutes

  • If the process is unable to Save, please refer to the error message and correct the configuration.

  • For Technical Support, please send an email with Error Messages and any additional information that may be helpful, such as screenshots, to Support@People.ai

When the API Connection is verified and saved, People.ai Stakeholder Insights will be available immediately.

People.ai API In-App Integration

Integration Mode

Enables Integration. Integration with additional features, such as People.ai Stakeholder Insights, is enabled by default.

• Auto (Default) - Integration will automatically be enabled if the People.ai Package is installed

• Enabled - Integration is enabled if the People.ai Package is installed

• Disabled - Integration is disabled (This option can be used for internal purposes. e.g. troubleshooting or testing)

• When the People.ai package is installed and integration Mode is set to Auto (Default) or Enabled, integration will automatically be enabled.

• If the People.ai package is not installed, all fields in the Field Mapping section must be mapped manually to enable the People.ai Web App functionality.

Show deep links to the Web App

• When enabled, this feature displays deep link buttons that allow Users to quickly open supported records in the People.ai application. Enabled by default.

Show Stakeholder Insights

• When enabled, Stakeholder page will have additional tabs with insights.

Show Buyer Benchmarks

• When enabled, buyer benchmarks will be visible on the stakeholder detail page.

Field Mapping

To Map Fields:

• Select the Object and Field. Objects have predefined Fields that can be mapped. These predefined fields are as follows:

  • Account:

    • Engagement Level

  • Contact:

    • Engagement Level

    • Created by People.ai

  • Opportunity:

    • Engagement Level

  • Opportunity Contact Role:

    • Created by People.ai

• NOTE: To view all fields on the Object, click on View Object Fields in the top right corner of the Object Name.

• Click on Map to Field and select the desired Field in your Organization to which you will map the predefined field.

• Repeat for any other needed Fields

• Click on Save Mapping

Troubleshooting

Engagement Score not Present

If the Engagement Scores are not populating please check the following:

• Is the Engagement Score information section displayed in the Stakeholder Cards on Relationship Maps (Opportunity or Account)?

  

• If the Engagement Score Graphic is present, the connection has been established correctly.

  • If the Engagement Score graphic is present, but displays - - instead of a numeric value, its presence indicates that the connection has been established correctly with the People.ai application.

  • If the Engagement Score graphic is present, but displays - -, this indicates that the Stakeholder has not been engaged.

If the Engagement Score graphic is not present, please recheck all steps in this Enablement Guide and ensure that all steps are completed correctly.

• Error Message:

  • Authorization failed. Specified Key/Secret pair is either invalid, expired or revoked.
